We believe in respecting the world around us by minimising the impact we humans have on our wider environment. We give new life to ingredients that would otherwise be discarded.

Cosmopolitan - Jan 2018
“A lack of sleep can lead to a build-up in the stress hormone cortisol," Dr Firas Al-Niaimi, Group Medical Director at sk:n tells me, and I probably average on around 6-7 hours a night. So I started to invest in catching more Zzz by getting a relaxing vanilla body scrub from Optiat to help me unwind!"
Daily Mail - Oct 2017
"A brother and sister duo have found an ingenious use for the tonnes of coffee grounds thrown away by cafés every day - by turning them into beauty products. William and Anna Brightman, from south London, launched nature-friendly beauty brand Optiat - an acronym for 'one person's trash is another's treasure' - in April 2016 in a bid to tackle coffee waste. Sourcing Arabica grounds from over 50 local London coffee shops, they repurpose used coffee that would otherwise be discarded and transform them into natural body exfoliators that are rich in antioxidants."
Vevolution - Dec 2017
"At Vevolution Festival 2017, we held Pitch + Plant the UK's very first plant-based investment pitching event. We created the competition in collaboration with our sponsor BRAN Investments who offered up £1500 in prize money + mentorship to the winner and a runners up prize of £500. What struck the dragons was that the standard of all the finalists pitches was incredibly high. With them describing all of them as a credit of plant-based entrepreneurs everywhere. One judge remarked that the businesses had done brilliantly to gain the traction they had in relatively short time frames. After much debate it was beauty brand Optiat who use reclaimed coffee granules who walked away winners."
